iBooks: Sync works just like Kindle
I'm heartened to find that iBooks syncronisation appears to work in a similar way to Amazon's Whispersync: Pages, bookmarks and notes are synchronised automatically over either 3G or wifi. I had feared that the process would take place only over local wifi, so it is really good to find that iBooks offers the same experience as the Kindle apps. As I have said before, the iBook readers on the iPad and, now, on the iPhone, are more attractive and comfortable than Kindle's rather basic products. However, Kindle wins hands down on content and price, so it is going to be tough for Apple to make out of the iBookstore the sort of success they are now used to. We won't write them off just now, though.
