Reading as a teenager gets you a better job, according to yet more Oxford academics, ROFL. Is this surprising, I wonder? Reading is one of the best ways to improve your knowledge of a language and enhance your job prospects. Sadly too few teenagers (and adults) ever read a book. Instead, people are now get their information from television, YouTube and email. OMG, I think we are breeding a generation of illiterates. Correction: We have bred a generation of illiterates. Let's hope the onward march of ebooks for iPhones, iPads and other devices will encourage more people to read.
