Waterstone's in bid to outdo the Kindle
British bookshop chain Waterstone’s plans to tackle Amazon and the Kindle ecosystem in what is likely to be a sink-or-swim offensive. According to Pocket-lint today, the book chain, now owned by Russian billionaire Alexander Mamut, is taking a leaf out of Barnes & Noble’s book by launching an ereader which aims to be “at least as good, and preferably substantially better, than that of our internet rival.” Good luck to them. According to James Daunt of Waterstone’s, the new reader is at an advanced stage and will launch in spring next year.
