The iPhone: Five years later...

Posted on by Mike Evans

I resisted the first iPhone because it didn't do 3G. My first experience of Apple's new phone was when the 3G went on sale in 2008. Since then I've always had the latest device in my pocket and I cannot imagine life before the iPhone. In common with Macworld's Jason Snell in this article, I was running a Palm Treo before the 3G and I hated almost everything about it. Except, perhaps, the physical keyboard which I was convinced I couldn't do without. Now I cannot imagine wrestling with such diminutive keys. The launch of the iPhone in 2007 was a defining moment in Apple's corporate history. It changed everything.
