Newspapers: "The day will come"
Rupert Murdoch yesterday: "The day will come when we'll just have to say, 'It's not working, we can't afford all the trucks, we can't afford all the huge presses and so on,' and we'll be be purely electronic."
When? Some say by 2017, others by 2032. But what is clear is that we face a steady and inexorable decline in print media. This applies just as much to books as to newspapers. I would argue that books are on an even steeper decline.
