me@me, me@mac and me@icloud - all me, me, me

With the introduction of iOS 6.0 we will all have to get used to email addresses. Ten years ago we started with and then migrated to @me four years ago at Apple’s behest. Older users will even remember .mac’s predecessor, iTools. So far this hasn’t been a big problem because dot mac users automatically received equivalent @me addresses. Both still work. Presumably, we will all now get @icloud versions so we can flaunt three different iterations of the same email address. Am I alone in thinking that all these changes are getting a bit tedious? Maybe Apple should settle on an email domain and stick to it, irrespective of what it chooses to call the latest version of the cloud.
