iPhone resale prices twice as high
When comparing smartphones and tablets most journalists fail to take into account the total cost of ownership. Just because a certain tablet is £100 cheaper than an iPad doesn't mean to say it is the best buy, even ignoring other factors such as the Apple ecosystem. It is the total cost of ownership that matters, just as it does when buying a car. Recent statistics, highligted here in Mashable, show that the an iPhone can command up to twice the price of an equivalent Android device. This inherent value is something I always take into account in anything I purchase. What can I sell it for when the next model comes along? So far, in eight years of Apple ownership, I have bought and sold frequently and have never been disappointed. It's worth doing your sums when that bargain tablet or phone is given a good rating. All may not be as it seems.
