Leica opens new London store in prime area
Leica's latest company owned store opened this evening in one if London's most prestigious shopping locations, Burlington Arcade off Piccadilly. Unlike the company's main store in Bruton Place, some five minutes' walk away, the new boutique will be seen by millions of tourists shoppers every year. Opened before Christmas as a Leica pop-up store, the showroom has now been decked out in the typical Leica house style seen from Beijing to Washington. The brand will now be on intimate terms with the great and the good of the luxury goods market. It is the first time, apart from a presence in Harrods and other department stores, where the company's products have been placed under the noses of the general consumer.
David Bell, MD of Leica's UK operations gave the store a rousing baptism in the presence of the press, the Leica dealer network and representatives of the fashion and entertainment worlds.
