Reichstag Leica goes up for auction
Leica is synonymous with iconic photographs, whether street shots from Henri Cartier-Bresson, war photography from World War II to Vietnam. The first image that always springs to mind is Nick Ut's Vietnam picture of the running child. But a close second is Yevgeny Khaldei's composition of the raising of the red flag over the defeated Reichstag in May 1945. Now, the Leica III that Khaldei used on that momentous occasion is set to be auctioned in Hong Kong this November. The price guide is £230,000.
