Macfilos: Eight years of blogging started with an iPhone 3G
How do you start a blog? More to the point, where do you start? Writing the first post is often the most difficult, a matter of jumping in at the deep end and hoping for the best. In the case of Macfilos, I made an instant decision eight years ago, August 2008, and wrote the first article on this day in that month: iPhone 3G, What the original should have been.
You see, my original intention was to write about technology and reviews and news about Apple products dominated the first few years. Indeed, the name of the blog was centred on this primary interest. I had avoided the original iPhone in 2007, largely because it didn’t offer fast data. But the arrival of the 3G in August 2008 set me off on what turned out to be eight years of almost daily commentary.
Gradually, over the ensuing years, I took to writing more about photography and developed my lifelong interest in cameras and street photography. The blog has grown. So today I opened a bottle of fizzy water to celebrate. Here’s to the first eight years of Macfilos.
