Beautiful winter's day at Cromarty Hill
Last Monday afternoon I was standing on Cromarty Hill — favourite launch spot for the paragliders and hand-gliders — Leica X Vario in hand and grabbed this shot at the end of a perfect winter's day.
The beach below is Forresters, then Wamberall and then Terrigal where I live — my house is just below the white water tank visible on the hillside in the far distance. The camera was pointing south and the pollution from Sydney, 80km away, is visible on the horizon.
The amazing thing about this scene is that there were whales breaching in the ocean while I was taking the photo. Literally dozens of them. I tried really hard to get a photo with a paraglider and a whale breaching but they were never aligned. It doesn't get much better than this.
